How to connect a custom domain on Blogger with GoDaddy

Assalamu Alaikum friends! I hope you are all doing well. This is part four of our course where we will discuss how to connect a GoDaddy domain with your blogger website.

Step 1: Open GoDaddy

First open GoDaddy.com and log in to your account. Open your products section where your purchased domains are visible.

Now click on My Products in Godaddy. Here is you will see all your purchased domains.

Step 2: Access DNS Settings

Look for the DNS option next to your domain. Click on it. Once you are in DNS settings all the DNS records for your domain will appear.

Step 3: Open Blogger Settings

Open your Blogger dashboard go to Settings and scroll down to the Custom Domain option. Enter your domain name in this format: www.example.com.

Click the Save button and you will see an error message showing CNAME records.

Step 4: Add CNAME Records in GoDaddy

• Copy the 1st CNAME Name shown in Blogger like www.
• Go back to GoDaddy DNS click Add and select CNAME as the record type.
• Paste the Name you copied into the "Name" field and the Destination (e.g., ghs.google.com) into the value field. Save it.
• Repeat this process for the second CNAME record provided by Blogger.

Step 5: Add IP Addresses

In Blogger help section you will see four IP addresses. Copy them one by one.

• Go back to GoDaddy DNS settings.
• Click Add New Record and select A (Address) as the type.
• Enter @ in the Name field and paste the IP in the Value field.
• Repeat this for all four IP addresses and save them.

Step 6: Update Blogger Settings

Now return to Blogger and click Save under the Custom Domain section.

Once the DNS records have propagated (this may take 10–20 minutes) your domain will be successfully connected to Blogger.

Enable the Redirect Domain and HTTPS availability options to ensure proper redirection.

Final Check

After completing these steps go to View Blog in Blogger. Your website will now show your custom domain (e.g., www.example.com) instead of blogspot.com.

These are simple steps you can follow to connect your domain without any issues. If you skip adding the IP addresses you may encounter errors so do not miss this step
